I live and work in Milwaukee. Mom of three. Back in 6/2007 my doctor said somethings to me that made it finally click in my head that I need to make some serious changes in my life if I want to be here for my kids in the long run. So I have been on here for a little over a year and I have lost over 30 pounds. And I am ready to keep this going.

Hi Jaime! I was wondering what you do to work out? Do you go to a gym?

So I admit it, I've been slacking off, I'm not sure why, maybe I just needed a break. But it has been 1 year since my doctor's appt and I've lost 31 pounds. Good job Jaime, good job Jaime. But now I'm ready to recommit myself and get this going again. So HELP ME out people...

Why my son is a keeper...so yesterday we were shopping and I wanted some new clothes because I dropped a size (or two depending on the article). I tried on a pair, too big, tried on a size smaller and it was just a bit tight. I said, oh, if I lost 5 more pounds, then it would fit better. So I said to him, should I buy it or not. And he said, it's always good to be prepared. Now that's what I like to hear. (Side note - I didn't buy it, I'm having trouble moving down again).

I decided to buy Alli on Sunday. The information I learned and my change in the way I thought about tracking food changed. I was also so focused on calories and never really paid attention to the fat. Now I so know better. So now I'm back on the losing track. And I went to Ballys Thursday and the Thursday before. So now I think I'm ready to take this seriously again. Like a recommitment to my goal. (On the plus side, my blood pressure is much much better, still need a little more improvement, but its getting there.)

Nothing like getting sick to lose some weight after stalling for months. Now that I have reached a real milestone / goal (that only my son knows about) I feel so much better about myself. Now its time to move on with this and get back on track so that I can reach my long term goals.

For the last three weeks I have been working out twice a week. I enjoy being there at the club. I just need to add one more day exercising and start eating better and I think I'll start to lose weight again. I seemed to stopped after that first 10 pounds and now I have a range where I have been fluctuating around.

For the last week I have been sick so I haven't been thinking about this too much but I noticed that the little sacrifices have great rewards. At our reunion yesterday I picked healthier food, skipped the cake, didn't drink alcohol but did have a little ice cream, so I didn't feel like I was giving up everything, and I continued to lose weight. So maybe this is what I need to focus on. Strangely, the little things.

Hey - How are you doing?
Still keeping your eyes on your goal: 140?
Well, only you can do this for yourself - so, do whatever it takes!
It is your life, so it is up to you...I am here only to support you, but can't do it for you...

Have you consider making a daily or a weekly menu?
This way, if you follow thru - there's no way of messing it up. Just have to stick with it.
Can't give in to your taste buds either. Anything you crave for might not be as healthy or good for your body at all.
Changing too many things at once can be stressful, too. Anything that is good for your (our) health - we should consider it now. Before you know it, we'll be 30 soon!
If you feel really hungry at night, start moving and doing any activities like walking, jumping, jogging, you know - exercising...and you won't feel as hungry as much.
You can drink a glass of water before you eat helps, too, because it makes you feel full already so you'll be eating less as well.
You're on the road of being healthy...so, let's go all the way. No messing it up! Otherwise - I might come up with some crazy ideas and make you do and go thru it...

If you change too many things, you get discouraged and go back to the way things were. I really have to work on the evening snacking. Daytime is a piece of .... carrot (shouldn't say cake anymore). Yesterday I had to starve myself, doctor ordered a test requiring fasting. Otherwise, day time snacks have been healthy and plentiful, carrots, yogurt, etc. Let's see how much I mess up this weekend.

Alright! You're making progress! Now that summer is here, it's easy to start physically moving. 15 minutes of walking is like 1 mile.
Wow! You lost 3 lbs already! Amazing! I hope you're not starving yourself...you can eat as many as 5-6 times per day of little portions of healthy food and snacks. However, eat very lite during the evening. Don't forget water, water, water! You probably know all these stuff - but just want to remind you - heheheeee:-)

Goals are suppose to be realistic and healthy. You should plan to lose 1 pound a week. There was not a way to enter intermediate goals.

Yesterday I went to the doctor for a physical. I already knew what he was going to say, but I had to go to get paperwork filled out. I almost cried (I am a crier). He was talking about needing to change, risk of a heart attack by 50, etc. So here I am. I went shopping for healthy foods yesterday and packed a super healthy breakfast and lunch. I also joined this board so I can try to force some outside attention on my issue, outside pressure to meet my goal. Let's see how it goes.
